Warm and fuzzy

Tonight is the end of a relaxing visit from daughter, Ky.  She's been home almost a month from college.  Starts back to school on Tuesday. We've had talked, laughed, eaten out, eaten in, cooked together, cried together and shared our hopes for the future in this short time period.  If you know her, you know how I feel right now.

I'm so happy that she makes good choices and gets advice if she isn't sure which path to take. She has a mind of her own, but she is quite level-headed and mature.   She thinks before she speaks.

I wish I could say the same for myself!

I'm going to really miss having her around.  I haven't had to be in the same room or even at the same address to have a smile on my face for the past month.  She just lights up a room and seems to be happiest whenever she puts the interests of others ahead of her own.

I'm going to miss you, Ky, but you are ready to continue on your Grand Adventure.

"The Lord bless you and keep you.  The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you.  The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."   (Numbers 6: 24-26)

I agree with your comment on my post. It was incredible.

At one point I wondered why I kept tearing up when I watched the Inauguration. Then I looked at the numbers of people present. Amazing. I soon reminded myself that it was history in the making. No one had seen something quite like it before.

Isn't that great? We made history today, and I'm proud. I pray God blesses President Obama and his family. I pray He gives our leaders wisdom in the decisions for this country. I also pray that the leaders will look to God for guidance, that they uphold their morals and honesty. Above all, I pray that they will all be men of God.

I was disappointed with those who booed former President Bush when he was introduced. That was in poor taste, no matter what someone's opinion of him may be.

This comment is from a member of our church earlier today on FB:

"Andy is sad that many of you cannot show class as Bush leaves office. If we were talking about Obama this way you would be angry."

I responded:

"Amen. President Bush deserves respect, even if many people don't like some of the choices that were made under his leadership. Remember, he is human and like each one of us he too makes mistakes. We are not without fault.

This respect should also apply to President-elect Obama. I'm sure he will make an error or two, but this does not make him less than any one of us. We are all human, and God's children no matter what race, religion, or political party."

Just my thoughts.
